The magic of a home comes from visual continuity: when a person enters a room and feels at home, it is the tonal relationships and consistency of finish between rooms that maintain this cohesion.
Colour is light; finishes absorb light or reflect it. A painter and colour consultant should be able to identify how natural light shifts in a home throughout the day and make informed colour and finish suggestions to complement this transition.
Architectural details and character must also be considered. Contrast from darker colours and higher sheen finishes can introduce visual weight and elegance in older homes, whereas modern spaces often benefit from softer transitions.
